del Lago Resort & Casino’s Savor del Lago Raises $1,500 for Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery
Posted on August 10th, 2018
Waterloo, N.Y. August 10, 2018 — Del Lago Resort & Casino hosted another successful Savor del Lago event on July 21, with proceeds benefitting the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery (SVMC).
Located in Romulus, NY, on the former site of the Sampson Naval Training Station and Sampson Air Force Base, SVMC provides veterans and their eligible dependents with a dignified final resting place of military burial. SVMC is owned and operated by Seneca County under VA National Cemetery guidelines with day-to-day management and maintenance provided by the Seneca County Economic Development Corporation. SVMC hopes to eventually become a federally funded national cemetery or a VA-funded New York State Veterans Cemetery.
Del Lago Resort & Casino presented SVMC with a $1,500 check. The funds raised from Savor del Lago will allow the organization to ensure the proper maintenance and operations of the cemetery to assure veterans receive a dignified, military funeral worthy of their service.
