Waterloo, N.Y. August 16, 2018 —The Southern region of Seneca County was declared a state of emergency by state and local officials following torrential rain and severe flooding in the area. Emergency crews and the National Guard were immediately deployed to assist with rescue and recovery efforts in the region.
Del Lago Resort & Casino’s general manager, Mark Juliano, worked with local officials to assess what the immediate needs were and rallied del Lago Resort & Casino team members to assist with the recovery efforts. Del Lago donated more than 500 house-made sandwiches, chips, cookies and other baked goods, and collected other vital supplies, such as paper goods and water.
All items were loaded onto a box truck and transported to the Ovid Firehouse, where del Lago team members, including members of the National Guard, Sen. Pam Helming, students from the Seneca Falls School District and staff from Sessler Wrecking assisted with unloading the del Lago box truck to distribute supplies to community members affected by the flooding.
