There is one undeniable fact about Johnny Gill’s Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum career. The singer/songwriter/producer sure knows how to rub music fans the right way.

Gill further fortified that inimitable legacy with his release, Game Changer II (J Skillz Records/Kalvary). Like its predecessor, Game Changer, Gill’s eighth solo studio album Game Changer II arrived packed with an avalanche of hits.

The 11-track set boasts several up-tempo, genre-bending tracks such as the Latin-spiced “Fiesta” featuring icons Carlos Santana and Sheila E., the reggae-tinged love song “Best Thing” as well as “Favorite Girl” – all produced by Grammy Award winning producer/musician/songwriter Blac Elvis out of Atlanta. A surefire standout is “That’s My Baby,” a sumptuous tribute to one of Gill’s biggest heroes, Luther Vandross, produced by the late producer, Ralph Stacy. In 2023, Johnny Gill’s 41^st anniversary as a professional entertainer and seals his legendary status. It’s been a time that’s seen him be successful as a solo artist, as a member of several groups and as the CEO of his own empire under the J Skillz mantle. Even as Motown celebrated its 60th anniversary, Johnny is still proud to have once been a part of that magical company’s golden legacy.

Discovered at 16 years old, he released two albums through Atlantic Records. He next joined now-iconic boy band New Edition, helping them segue melodically from novelty to longevity on timeless classics such as “If It Isn’t Love” and “Can You Stand the Rain.” As a linchpin of legendary Motown Records’ ‘90s comeback roster, Gill exploded as a solo artist with an indelible one-two punch from producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (“Rub You the Right Way”) and L.A. Reid & Babyface (“My, My, My”). Alongside Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat, Gill established L.S.G., the powerful R&B supergroup behind the sexy smash “My Body.” He also formed another supergroup, Heads of State, with New Edition peers Bobby Brown and Ralph Tresvant.

Johnny Gill is one of the few artist to score #1 hits with two different groups, duo and also as a solo artist.  He’s one of the top legendary artist to have hits on the top 10 R&B charts for three decades 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s. He’s accomplished a lot in his career as a veteran in this business and deserves a lot of credit for what he’s done in over 40 years in this business.

After a 15-year solo hiatus, Gill made a stunning return to the game with 2011’s Still Winning.  The set peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the magazine’s R&B album chart. Then came the pivotal Game Changer on Gill’s own record label J Skillz.

Following Johnny’s involvement in the 2017 television ratings bonanza The New Edition Story, Gill filmed a role in 2018 in the upcoming Spinning Gold which will be released in 2023. In the forthcoming biopic about Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, Gill plays Clarence Burke Jr. who was the lead singer of the Five Stairsteps (top 40 hit “O-o-h Child”).

A fervent believer in giving back, Gill is a longtime supporter of the L.A. Speech & Language Therapy Center for the last 15 years, which provides treatment and services for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other diagnoses. “Music is so universal and can be so healing to our souls,” says Gill. “I love watching these children work through their problems, evolve and do things no one ever dreamed they could.” Gill performed with the kids from LA Speech & Language Therapy Center at the Special Olympics 2015 Opening Ceremony.

Elgin B. Lumpkin, better known by his stage name Ginuwine, is a Grammy-nominated Icon Award recipient, legendary American singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and philanthropist. Ginuwine’s career began as a member of Swing Mob, an R&B/hip-hop collective consisting of artists and record labels based in Rochester, New York. The record label and music compound were founded by Donald Degrate, better known as “DeVante Swing, ” a popular 90’s R&B group Jodeci. With a multifaceted talent foundation, Ginuwine signed to Epic Records as a solo artist in the mid-1990s; Ginuwine released several multi-platinum and platinum-selling albums and singles, becoming one of R&B’s top artists. His commercial success came from his first four albums: 2X Platinum, Ginuwine…The Bachelor and 100% Ginuwine with featured hit singles “Same Ol’ G, “So Anxious” and “None of Ur Friends Business,” Platinum album, The Life, and gold album, The Senior. Known for his edgy and alluring dance sound, the diversified palette of his music next served a smooth and romantic single that soared. Peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number four on the Billboard Hot 100, the single “Differences” is still one of his top-selling songs.

The explosive success in the 1990s appeared from collaborations with rapper Melissa “Missy” Elliott, singer-songwriter Stephen “Static Major” Garrett, and producer Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley. Ginuwine and Timbaland became a hit-making duo when they displayed a combination of smooth vocals and an innovative production style that disrupted the music scene with the hit single “Pony.” Immediate success peaked “Pony” at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 with smooth upbeat tempos. The craving for “Pony” led to samples in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV, a feature in a striptease dance performed by Channing Tatum in the film Magic Mike, a cover performance by Mike Patton and Rahzel ” in concert, and with relevance still today as a feature on the new FOX hit television show STAR.

With success on everything he touches, up next was a trio collaboration with R&B artists Tyrese (Tyrese Gibson) and Tank (Durrell Babbs). In 2012 the R&B supergroup called TGT was introduced and signed to Atlantic Records. This collaboration of three game-changers took the R&B world by storm. Their Grammy-nominated debut album Three Kings was released in 2013, an album that still has the fans yearning for more.

Acknowledging his multifaceted talent, Ginuwine entered the acting arena. He was cast as R&B singer “Romeo” in the film Juwanna Mann, appeared in several episodes of Moesha as Khalib, and appeared on Half & Half as R.J. Jackson. Off-screen, Ginuwine co-starred in the Gospel Music Channel’s debut of John Ruffin’s stage play The Ideal Husband, which stars Darrin Dewitt Henson, Jackée Harry, Clifton Powell, Shirley Murdock, Shanti Lowry, and Erica Hubbard. He also appeared as himself in the NBC series Parks and Recreation. In 2018 Ginuwine entered the U.K. reality show Celebrity Big Brother 21.

Ginuwine has recently received honor and recognition of the Icon Award from the Black Music Honors. As a crooner and legendary artist in the industry for 25 years, he still sell-out shows and carries a spotlight in sold-out tours, the 2018 90’s Block Party Tour, and the RnB Friday’s Live Tour Australia, both with legendary lineups. Chris Kirkpatrick is an American singer, dancer, actor, and voice actor who is best known for his work as a founding member of the pop group *NSYNC. As a voice actor, he has worked on numerous kids shows, including voicing the character of Chip Skylark on “The Fairly Oddparents”. In 2022, he competed in Season 3 of “Celebrity Big Brother” and “The Masked Singer.”

O-Town’s story began in 1999, when “Making the Band” chronicled the rise to success of OTown throughout three seasons of the series on both ABC and MTV. The group’s first two fulllength albums included #1 singles, “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and the Top 40 hit “We Fit Together.” “All or Nothing” was nominated for Song of the Year at the Radio Music Awards in 2001.

BBMAK Originally formed in 1997, BBMAK (Mark Barry, Christian Burns, and Stephen McNally) are officially “Back Here” after a 15-year hiatus. The multi- platinum-selling English pop group has sold more than three million albums and had hit singles worldwide before disbanding in 2003. Best known for their self- penned infectious guitar-driven hits “Back Here”, “Out of My Heart”, and “The Ghost of You and Me”, BBMAK was one of the few bands during the pop explosion of the early 2000s to play their own instruments and write their own songs. Billboard recently named “Back Here” the 9th greatest boy band song of all time.

Ryan Cabrera is the singer and songwriter behind ubiquitous smashes such as “On the Way Down,” “True” and “Shine On” as well as albums including 2004’s Take It All Away, which hit #8 on the Billboard Top 200. Ryan was also featured heavily on MTV’s “Ashlee Simpson Show” and “The Hills”.
