del Lago Supports Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation Inc. and Purple Heart Recipients
Del Lago Resort & Casino is paying tribute to veterans, giving thanks to those who have served our country. To celebrate America’s veterans, on Monday, Nov. 12, the resort and casino invites active and inactive military personnel with a valid military ID to enjoy the Farmers Market Buffet free of charge.
The Farmers Market Buffet offers guests locally sourced produce, fruits, dairy products, meats and pastries.
On Monday, Nov. 12, the buffet will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
To further commemorate Veterans Day and thank veterans for their service, del Lago Resort & Casino has partnered with the Wounded Warriors in Action (WWIA) Foundation, Finger Lakes Chapter. WWIA welcomed five Purple Heart recipients to Seneca Falls Nov. 7-11 for an all-expense-paid outdoor sporting adventure. The heroes were welcomed at the airport with transportation provided by del Lago Resort & Casino in one of its luxury SUVs. They experience guided duck and deer hunts and accommodations in a house on Cayuga Lake. These sporting activities serve as a means to recognize and honor their sacrifice, encourage independence and connections with communities, and promote healing and wellness through camaraderie and a shared passion for the outdoors. The weekend culminates with a celebration dinner for the heroes held at Kuneytown Sportsmen’s Club.
“As a staunch community steward, del Lago Resort & Casino was thrilled to be among the first to welcome the Purple Heart recipients as they began their outdoor adventure here in our beautiful Finger Lakes region,” said Mark Juliano, general manager and executive vice president of del Lago Resort & Casino. “It is so important for del Lago to honor those who are serving in uniform today and those who have served in the past — this is a small token of our appreciation and gratitude for their service.”
Del Lago Resort & Casino donated a luxury vehicle and driver to pick up the veterans in style at the airport and take part in a motorcade with the Seneca Falls Police Department and the American Legion Honor Guard, giving the Purple Heart recipients a hero’s welcome to the Finger Lakes.
“We are incredibly appreciative of del Lago Resort & Casino’s support and partnership helping us transport our Purple Heart heroes in style as they take part in some incredible hunting and fellowship in the field,” said Dr. Keith Tidball, of Cornell University’s Department of Natural Resources, who serves as science advisor for WWIA. “This event is an opportunity for us to honor their service and sacrifice, and to help facilitate their healing journey through the great outdoors and in the camaraderie they share with their fellow heroes. We hope that this event will be as impactful and memorable for each of them as it is for our partners like del Lago.”
